Yoga
I offer private one-on-one yoga sessions at home or in a clinical setting. I am also available to teach group classes. While I am happy to work with all fitness levels, I especially enjoy working with people who have physical limitations, disabilities, and chronic illness. I have had chronic fatigue syndrome since I was 17 years old and have used yoga to get healthier and stronger. I am also not naturally flexible – if you can’t touch your toes, I can relate (it took me 10 years of yoga to get there!).
As a yoga therapist, I have worked with people recovering from injury as well as seniors needing a slower approach. I have specifically been trained to work with Multiple Sclerosis patients.
My approach can be very gentle, yet challenging when required. I enjoy bringing in the spiritual aspects of yoga such as meditation for those clients who are interested in it.

Hatha Yoga
Hatha yoga can be adapted to a variety of levels and can include a faster paced “vinyasa flow” or “power yoga” style or a slower paced pose-at-a-time approach.
Gentle Yoga
Gentle yoga specifically focuses on the more relaxing aspects of yoga, with emphasis on breathing, stretching, and body awareness. Restorative poses can be used to calm the mind and brighten the spirit. Gentle yoga is especially recommended for PWCs (persons with chronic fatigue syndrome) until exercise tolerance is built up. See “Yoga in Chairs” for a specific type of gentle yoga.
Yoga in Chairs (with specialty in Multiple Sclerosis)
Chair yoga is a wonderful option for those who would like the benefits of yoga but have a hard time getting down to and up off the floor. This approach works for people in wheelchairs as well as seniors with physical limitations. I am certified in Liz Franklin’s Yoga in Chairs with specialty in Multiple Sclerosis.
Kundalini Yoga
Kundalini yoga involves a lot of meditation and mantra, and utilizes specific exercise “sets” to work on clearing various emotional and energetic blockages. While kundalini yoga can be quite strenuous, poses can be modified and less intense practices can be cultivated. The meditations are excellent for healing.
Yoga Reiki
In a Yoga Reiki session you will be guided through a gentle/restorative yoga practice, while Reiki energy healing is applied to various areas that need opening. For example, if you are in a seated forward bend, the Reiki would be sent to the lower back. Combining Reiki and yoga provides the wonderful benefits of both modalities, including increased energy, improved flexibility, and enhanced well-being.
